Our sweet Pickle is ready to find her forever home!  Pickle is a retired breeding gal who came to us tearfully surrendered by her previous owner after she suffered a ruptured disk and subsequent surgery.  She has rear end paralysis and urinary and fecal incontinence.  This little dilly of a girl wears a diaper and can zoom along in her wheels, but she does require someone who can express her bladder and change her diapers frequently, as well as keep an eye out for recurring UTIs, which are fairly synonymous with pups with Pickle’s type of special needs.
Other than her physical issues, though, Pickle is just a dream of a Frenchie—she loves to play outside or stay snuggled up indoors with her people.  She gets along with pretty near anyone and anything including other dogs in all shapes, sizes, and genders, as well as kids, and doesn’t mind cats.  She is crate-trained, although she is obviously not house-trained.
Pickle’s ideal new people do not need to have Frenchie experience per se, but they DO need to be committed to expressing her bladder and changing her diapers as frequently as is necessary for her to maintain her health and cleanliness.  Fortunately, she is easy to express and accustomed to wearing a diaper, so that should make it a bit easier.   Because these needs should be dealt with frequently, Pickle’s ideal family will have someone who stays at home or who works in a dog-friendly enviornment.  Pickle would be a GREAT office dog, since she gets along with everyone and is so very, very sweet.  Also, since Pickle is a cart dog, her home should not have stairs, or having stairs, her people must ALWAYS carry her up or down them, as well as provide safeguards at the tops of stairs so she doesn’t accidentally take a tumble.  Pickle is great with her wheels, and boy, can she zoooommmm in them!
Her foster mom, who is one of our most experienced and has had a lot of special needs foster dogs, has said that Pickle is one of the nicest, happy, and most playful dogs she has ever had the pleasure of fostering.  If you relish the idea of having  a happy, playful, zoomy cart dog, please dill, er, fill out the application by clicking below!
